Advisory on the Retention or Reacquisition of PH Citizenship (Dual Citizenship)

15 March 2023 - The Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines in Istanbul encourages all Filipinos under its jurisdiction (Balıkesir, Bilecik, Bursa, Çanakkale, Edirne, İstanbul, Kocaeli, Kırklareli, Sakarya, Tekirdağ and Yalova) who have already acquired foreign citizenship to apply for the Retention or Reacquisition of their Philippine Citizenship under the Philippine Dual Citizenship Act (R.A. 9225).

Proper registration as dual citizens allows all qualified Filipinos to enjoy their full rights as Filipino citizens, such as exercising their civic duty to vote and the proper recognition of their children as Filipino citizens.
