Istanbul, 03 February 2025– Philippine Consulate General in Istanbul, led by Consul General Shirlene C. Mananquil, in partnership with the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Lebanon, headed by the new Labor Attaché Adam Musa, conducted a two-day Outreach Mission for Filipinos in the Marmara region on 01 to 02 February 2025 at the Consulate premises. 

A total of 124 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) were provided assistance by the MWO and OWWA Lebanon team during the said two-day mission, of which 86 were related to contract verification and 38 OWWA membership renewals.

Following the outreach mission, a meeting with the Filipino community leaders and area coordinators was held in the afternoon of 02 February 2025. During the informal dialogue, Consul General Mananquil and Labor Attaché Musa urged the Filipino Community leaders to not hesitate in reaching out to the Philippine Consulate General, MWO, or OWWA if they need assistance, regardless of their status in the host country. 

Consul General Mananquil also assured the Filipino leaders of the Consulate’s continued collaboration with MWO and OWWA Lebanon for the conduct of several activities this year to further equip and assist OFWs under its jurisdiction. END
