08 October 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Istanbul promoted the Filipino creative industries and tourism during its participation at the 5th International Craft Istanbul Handicrafts and Design Fair and Exhibition, held at the Dr. Architect Kadir Topbaş Performance and Art Center, Yenikapı, Istanbul from 02 to 06 October 2024.  

International and local visitors admired and generously praised the high-quality handicrafts displayed at the Philippine booth, which included mother-of-pearl home decor, accessories made from bamboo and abaca fiber, indigenous textiles, and more. The booth also introduced visitors to different Philippine tourist destinations.

The Craft Istanbul Handicrafts and Design Fair and Exhibition, organized by Atis Fairs Inc., aims to introduce traditional and contemporary handicrafts of various countries to different market channels and consumers.  The Philippine booth enhanced awareness of Filipino culture amongst foreign visitors, promoted Filipino craftsmanship and products, and piqued visitors’ interest to visit the country for business and pleasure.
