27 May 2024- Istanbul PCG’s Economic Team visited the showroom of Bago Handicrafts, a women’s fashion store on 24 May 2024. Located in Arnavutkoy, Istanbul, Türkiye, Bago store showcases a fusion of Filipino-Turkish materials and artistry. It supports women artisan communities in the Philippines, Brazil, and Türkiye, as well as promotes sustainable and eco-friendly fashion.
Bago products are imported from the Philippines and constructed with natural materials such as abaca fibers, banana leaves, pineapple leaves, and mother of pearl, while the genuine gemstones from Brazil and Türkiye provide decorative accents.
Aside from their showroom, Bago also has an online store and Instagram shop. Additionally, their products may be found at Beymen’s upscale and fashionable shops.
Post’s Economic Team and Ms. Dumani also discussed possible future collaboration between Bago Handicrafts and the Consulate in showcasing and promoting their Philippine-made products through the Consulate’s various events and activities.
