PH Consul General Mananquil and NCMF Commissioner Allong Explore Future Collaborative Projects on Education and Culture

03 March 2023 - Philippine Consul General Shirlene C. Mananquil met with National Commission on Muslim Filipinos Commissioner Samer Musa Allong during the latter’s courtesy call on the new Consul General of the Republic of the Philippines to Istanbul, Türkiye on 02 March 2023.

Commissioner Allong congratulated Consul General Mananquil on her appointment. On her part, the Consul General expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for taking the time to visit the Consulate.

Both discussed several areas for future collaboration,  such as the inclusion of Türkiye, Istanbul in particular, among the destinations to be recommended by NCMF for Filipino Muslims wishing to travel right after the Hajj or Umrah; education scholarships and exchange programs for Filipino Muslims; and showcasing of designers, textiles, and filmmakers from Bangsamoro and Mindanao.

Commissioner Allong was accompanied by two Filipino scholars, Ms. Faozah Uyan and Mr. Rauf Jainal, who are taking their Graduate and Bachelor’s Degree Programs, respectively, in Istanbul. END
