Consul General Arvin de Leon called on İstanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya last 10 June. The call was held at the reception hall of the historic İstanbul Governorship building located in Fatih district.

Both CG de Leon and Governor Yerlikaya agreed that several areas of cooperation specifically in the fields of culture, tourism, trade and investments can be explored between the Philippines and İstanbul province which remains to be one of the most important economic regions in Turkey.

The meeting was the first time that the Philippine Consul General met the highest-ranking government official of Istanbul Province.
