10 May 2021 - The Philippine Consulate General in Istanbul, in line with its mandate to gather information on Filipinos residing or working in the areas under its consular jurisdiction, is proud to announce the launching of its online registration to enable Filipino citizens to register themselves and be included in the Consulate General’s database. The online registration is for Filipino citizens living, working, studying or intending to stay in the provinces of Balikesir, Bilecik, Bursa, Çanakkale, Edirne, Istanbul, Kirklareli, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Tekirdağ and Yalova. The online registration will guide the Philippine Consulate General in Istanbul, which was established only in 2020, to plan its programs and adjust its operations according to the demographic character of its community. The new database will also be critical in the identification and notification of Filipinos’ next-of-kin in the Philippines and Turkey as well as facilitate the dissemination of important information and public advisories, especially during natural disasters and other public emergencies.

 The information provided will be protected under the provisions of the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (R.A. No. 10173) and used by the Philippine Consulate General only for the conduct of its functions and responsibilities. Should any Filipino also leave Turkey permanently, the Philippine Consulate General would also appreciate receiving notification by email of his/her departure in order to update its database.
