20 August 2021 – The Department of Foreign Affairs – Overseas Voting Secretariat (DFA OVS) reminds all overseas Filipinos that the deadline for transferring overseas voter records back to the Philippines is on 31 August 2021.
Meanwhile, Filipinos who will be abroad from 10 April – 09 May 2022 are encouraged to register as overseas voters before the 30 September 2021 registration deadline.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Filipinos who are experiencing difficulties travelling to the nearest Philippine Embassy or Consulate for voter registration/ voter record concerns may avail of the COMELEC-Office for Overseas Voting’s (OFOV) Virtual Frontline Services (VFS). The VFS, however, pertains only to transactions where the applicant has existing voter registration records with complete biometric data such as:
Consul General Arvin de Leon, accompanied by Consul Edwin Gil Mendoza, held several discussions with key officials from İstanbul and Kocaeli provinces.
On 28 June 2021, CG de Leon met with Mr. Bayram Yalınsu, Provincial Director of the Istanbul Migration Management Directorate. The meeting was crucial as Istanbul is home to majority of Filipinos in Turkey. CG de Leon reiterated to Mr. Yalınsu the importance of cooperation between the two sides on immigration matters.

The Christmas Card Cover Design Contest is open to all Filipino citizens ages 16 and up who are residing in the provinces of İstanbul, Balıkesir, Bilecik, Bursa, Çanakkale, Edirne, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Tekirdağ, and Yalova.
Each artist/contestant can submit one entry only. No caption required.
Each original artwork must be in color or black and white, previously unpublished and free of copyright restrictions. It can also be done by hand or with the aid of computers and other drawing instruments.
